ZoomHead: laser precision with automated intelligence
Continuous and automatic adjustment technology
Traditional laser systems often require manual adjustments to the focal point or frequent parameter changes involving lens replacement (e.g., 5“, 7.5”, or 10″ lenses) or the use of additional components such as extension tubes or secondary optics. These operations are time-consuming and, once completed, lock the machine into a fixed configuration.
With ZoomHead, all these adjustments are integrated into a single smart device that allows for fully automatic configuration, without the need for manual intervention, and real-time optimization.
Built-in Automatic Functions:
• Adaptive adjustments based on material type and thickness
• Laser beam diameter adjustment
• Beam shape change: from point to ring
• Dynamic focal point adjustment
• Automatic magnification setting
• Continuous and dynamic parameter adjustments
• Automatic table-based setting without head intervention

High Power Piercing (HPP)
Thanks to the integration between the Mitsubishi fiber laser source and the ZoomHead, ultra-fast drilling is possible:
up to 25 mm of mild steel drilled in just 0.8 seconds, reducing cycle time by up to 60% compared to traditional systems.
Active Control and Safety
ZoomHead includes MEL’s EYE system, which monitors the cutting process in real time and detects anomalies such as:
• Incomplete perforation
• Excessive plasma
• Signs of burning
• Cutting loss
In addition, the DRC (Dross Reduction Control) system improves edge quality by minimizing dross formation.
Smart Magnetic Protection
A unique magnetic mechanism holds the cutting head in place and automatically resets it after accidental impact. This system:
• Reduces machine downtime
• Prevents structural damage
• Eliminates the need for manual nozzle realignment
Monitoring of protective glass
An internal sensor continuously monitors the condition of the protective glass, alerting the operator in case of contamination or when replacement is necessary, ensuring optimal laser beam quality at all times.

AGR-MIX: High-quality cut, lower gas consumption
Mitsubishi Laser presents AGR-MIX, a patented new-generation technology integrated into the GX-F series fiber lasers with built-in artificial intelligence. This innovative solution significantly reduces auxiliary gas consumption and improves cutting quality on ferrous materials by minimizing or eliminating slag formation.

No external tank, maximum efficiency
The new AGR-MIX nozzle eliminates the need for external mixing tanks or high-pressure oxygen. Instead, it mixes compressed air and nitrogen directly inside the nozzle, generating an optimized gas flow that adapts in real time to the material being processed.
Up to 75% gas savings
Derived from Mitsubishi’s AGR (Assist Gas Reduction) technology, AGR-MIX enables nitrogen savings of up to 75%, with the possibility of a further 50% reduction under specific conditions. A substantial reduction in operating costs for any production environment.
A complete range for every cutting need
Mitsubishi Laser offers three technologies optimized for auxiliary gas reduction:
• AGR-N2 – Oxide-free cutting, 100% nitrogen, savings of up to 75%
• AGR-AIR – Air cutting, highly cost-effective
• AGR-MIX – Mixed gas cutting optimized for high quality and additional savings

Innovative dual-chamber nozzle design
The AGR-MIX nozzle features a dual-chamber configuration: nitrogen is conveyed through the center, surrounded by an external air flow. Part of this air is redirected into the main flow to create the MIX gas flow, ensuring greater cutting stability and cleaner results, even in high-volume jobs.

AGR-MIX users report stable production, repeatable results, and excellent cutting quality, particularly on mild steel. This technology is designed to ensure consistent performance while reducing operating costs.

Intelligent, hands-free nozzle change
The GX-F series offers optional automatic nozzle change, an innovation from 2025, which allows the system to change nozzles without operator intervention. This reduces machine downtime, ensures optimal configuration for each type of material, and contributes to fully automated production.
Integrated high-power laser source
GX-F systems are equipped with Mitsubishi Electric fiber oscillators with power ranging from 4 to 20 kW. Designed for precision and durability, these oscillators offer consistent high-speed cutting with minimal maintenance and optimal integration with ZoomHead and AGR systems.
